Wednesday Addams is a rare character that only seems to get better as time goes on. We weren't at the age where we could really appreciate her sarcastic and witty comments when she blessed our screens in 1991 – "I’ll clean my room. In exchange for your immortal soul.” – but our annual Halloween rewatch of the classic gives us a new appreciation for Wednesday and her hellish crusade.

So, when we heard Netflix was remaking it into a series, we were sceptical. I mean, another remake? How original. However, this generations Wednesday, played by Jenna Ortega, has admittedly, completely won us over. The more Wednesday Addams in the world, the better.

We're clearly not the only ones that are obsessed – it had a record-breaking debut on Netflix – but we might be obsessed for different reasons, mainly the makeup. We know looks aren't everything, but when it comes to playing Miss Wednesday, it's important to nail the moody makeup aesthetic to really complement her sass.

So we were very excited to discover the exact lip products used on Jenna, which paired hand in hand with her soulless stare. The shows makeup artist, Tara McDonald, confirmed that she used MAC's Lip Pencil in Nightmoth, mixed in with Dr. PAWPAW's clear lip balm. And it really does create the perfect moody grey-ish lip combo.

McDonald started off by lining the lips with the dark maroon lip liner and blended it inwards, before topping it off with the balm. The key? Not to make it look too 'done'.

"The idea was for her to look like she had naturally dark lips," Tara says. "I didn't want it to look like she was wearing lipstick."

It really takes goth makeup to a whole new level.

Considering it's one of the most viewed Netflix series in history, we'd advise you to jump on this lip combo as quickly as possible before it inevitably sells out. It won't even cost you your immortal soul – yay!
