Wes Anderson's 'Asteroid City' Receives Official Release Date

A release date for Wes Anderson's next film Asteroid City has been revealed.

According to reports, the rom-com drama will receive a limited theatrical release on June 16, 2023 and a planned wider release on June 23, and will feature a high-profile cast comprised of Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Jason Schwartzman, Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Ed Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carell, Matt Dillon, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Tony Revolori, Jake Ryan, Grace Edwards, Aristou Meehan, Sophia Lillis, Ethan Lee, Jeff Goldblum and Rita Wilson. Anderson co-wrote the film with Roman Coppola and produced alongside Steven Rales and Jeremy Dawson.

Set in the 1950s, Asteroid City takes place in a fictional American desert town, where the Junior Stargazer convention is taking place. As students and parents from all over the country come together for the event, viewers can expect “scholarly competition, rest and recreation, comedy, drama, romance, and more.”
