April 16, 2021 would have been Selena Quintanilla's 50th birthday. Fans filled Twitter with superlatives and sweet tributes to the late Tejano singer, who was shot and killed at age 23 by her fan club president. Many described Selena as "legendary" and "queen."
Selena’s birthday comes within a month of the highly-anticipated release of Selena: The Series part two, streaming on Netflix May 4. Season one, which followed Selena's early years, was an instant hit on the streaming service, with thousands of people watching the television show when it debuted.

Selena married husband Chris Perez before she died.
Selena and Chris eloped on April 2, 1992 after her father kicked him out of the band for their secret relationship. (Chris has waxed nostalgic about that day on Facebook.) She and the guitarist were married for almost three years. Contrary to gossip circulating at the time, they did not get married because she was pregnant.
So, did Selena have any children?
There were multiple rumors that Selena was pregnant at the time of her death. Yolanda Saldivar, who was found guilty of killing the singer, allegedly claimed in an interview that Selena had been pregnant, Nicki Swift and other outlets reported at the time.
Chris disputed these claims in an interview with Chron.com. "I could fill a whole book just about that [the rumors]," Chris told the publication. "There were some things that were just ridiculous."
All those rumors were false, and Selena did not have any children.
However, Chris remarried and shares two children with his second wife.
Chris and now-ex-wife Vanessa Villanueva had a girl and a boy, Cassie (22) and Noah (16), per The Hollywood Reporter. They divorced in 2008 after seven years of marriage, Newsweek reported.
