Wausau man arrested after stabbing on city's west side

A Wausau man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing that occurred on Friday morning, police said.

Police were called to a home in the 400 block of S. 4th Avenue in Wausau early Friday morning for a report of a stabbing. When they arrived, neither the victim nor the suspect was still on scene. However, when a 40-year-old man arrived at a local hospital with non-critical injuries consistent with a stabbing, he was identified as the stabbing victim, police said. He was treated and released.

Jason N. Hopinka, 39, was arrested on Friday afternoon in the Town of Ringle. He has been charged with recklessly endangering safety and substantial battery.
