Watch "Wrap Battle" Star Eddie Ross Turn Iconic Rooms Into Amazing Gift Wrap

From House Beautiful

Creative inspiration can come from pretty much anywhere—just ask crafter extraordinaire Eddie Ross, a House Beautiful contributor who is currently whipping up some gift-wrapping magic on Freeform's competition series Wrap Battle. When we asked him to come up with some truly over-the-top wrapping ideas, he looked to the legends of interior design—think Sister Parish, David Hicks, Billy Baldwin—to inspire six incredible presents that are so pretty, we don't think we'd be able to open them. When you're done watching him work his wizardry, read on for the story behind each room!

Tune into Freeform's Wrap Battle on Mondays at 8/9c.

Nancy Lancaster's Yellow Room

Nancy Lancaster's drawing room in London, which she designed with John Fowler in the 1950s after buying his firm, Colefax & Fowler, inspires decorators to the present day. "It is a quintessential English country house look...It works because it feels authentic," Michelle Nussbaumer told Business of Home in a paean to the famed "Yellow Room."

A godmother of American design, Sister Parish spent summers at her home in Dark Harbor, Maine, where her New England-imbued aesthetic—needlepoint, stripes, faded florals—was on full display.

David Hicks' Country House

Leave it to master of mod David Hicks to design an English country house that was, well, the antithesis of a typical English country house. From the graphic carpet to the tomato-red walls, the over-the-top look still feels fresh.

A wonderland of maximalist whimsy, the late Tony Duquette's Beverly Hills estate, Dawnridge, proves that more is, in fact, more—especially when it comes to malachite, leopard print, coral and Chinoiserie.

Decorator to the stars Billy Baldwin was known for having a flair for the theatrical—as was one of his most famous clients, the onetime Vogue and Harper's Bazaar editor Diana Vreeland. Her directive to Baldwin to turn her living room into "a garden in hell" resulted in one of his most famous interiors of all time.
