How to Watch the USATF Outdoor Championships

This article originally appeared on Womens Running

This is an exciting week for sports fans as the Stanley Cup final continues to play out in hockey. And depending on how the Colorado Avalanche fare, it could conclude as early as Friday or continue until Tuesday June 28.

But even more thrilling (and probably the reason you’re here on Women’s Running) is that the USATF outdoor championships start on Thursday June 23. Through Sunday you’ll have the opportunity to watch the best women and men across 18 track and field disciplines (except for the marathon, 10,000m, 25k race walk, and 35k race walk) compete in one stadium.

Here’s your complete guide on how to watch all weekend long.

What to Know About the Outdoor Championships

The 2022 USATF outdoor championships will take place in Eugene, Oregon at Hayward Field–the recently renovated University of Oregon facility. The new stadium, which was completed in 2020 and hosted the Olympic track and field trials last June, has the capacity to seat 12,000 to nearly 25,000 track fans.

That ample seating may well come in handy when the World Athletics championships are held in the very same place this July. In fact, this weekend’s events will determine who represents the United States at the world championships–taking place July 15-24.

How to Watch the USATF Outdoor Championships

NBC (including Peacock) is the primary network broadcaster for the outdoor championships for Saturday and Sunday’s events when the majority of the finals will be held. CNBC will have some coverage, otherwise USATF.TV will be your best bet to stream live. However, USATF.TV will only be showing field events when NBC is expected to host the main track events.
