In anticipation of the premiere of Christoper Nolan's summer blockbuster, Oppenheimer, Universal Pictures has released a new trailer. The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin.

Cillian Murphy stars ast the titular role of Oppenheimer. As the leading man in the epic thriller, audiences will see him portray the "father of the atomic bomb," who forever changed the world as we know it. Emily Blunt stars alongside Murphy as his wife, biologist, and botanist Katherine "Kitty" Oppenheimer. Oscar winner Matt Damon portrays General Leslie Groves Jr., director of the Manhattan Project, while Robert Downey, Jr. plays Lewis Strauss, a founding commissioner of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission. The film also features Oscars-nominated Florence Pugh, who plays psychiatrist Jean Tatlock, as well as Benny Safdie, Josh Hartnett, Rami Malek and more.

The latest trailer gives audiences another glimpse of what to expect from the thriller. The plot follows the story of an enigmatic man who believes that he must risk destroying the world in order to save it.

Oppenheimer releases in theaters on July 21, 2023.
