The very first teaser for Cameron Boyce’s final project has officially arrived.
People reports that the actor was set to appear in an independent series called Paradise City, which was shot just a few months before his death in July 2019. The series also stars Bella Thorne, Booboo Stewart, Olivia Culpo, Drea De Matteo, Mark Boone, Fairuza Balk, Perrey Reeves, Rys Coiro, Ryan Hurst, and Brooke Lyons.
In the first official teaser for the project, which was debuted by People on Friday, May 1, we see Cameron as Simon Ostergaard, a young musician who finds himself entangled in the darker side of Hollywood and the entertainment industry. “Do you think that devil worship is real in Hollywood?” Cameron-as-Simon asks in one particular scene. “Like the whole black magic, and all that stuff.”
According to the show’s official Instagram page, a portion of the series’ profits will be donated to The Cameron Boyce Foundation, the organization that was created by Cam’s parents in the wake of his death. “[Cameron] gave us an incredible performance as a young musician, band leader and aspiring DIY executive in the music business,” a post on Paradise City’s IG account reads. “Cameron was a truly one of a kind spectacular talent. ❤️💙💜 Every scene he was written in was shot and completed in the first season.”
Since his passing, Cameron’s work has continued to impact the world. The actor’s final film, Runt, won an award at the Mammoth Film Festival in March, and the Descendants franchise continues to keep Cameron’s memory alive through his costars and fans.
All 8 episodes of Paradise City Season 1 will debut sometime later this year; you can watch the trailer below.
