Watch Strongman Rob Kearney Attempt to Eat 10,500 Calories Worth of Chicken Wings

How many wings could you eat in one go? Six, maybe 10 at a push? On his YouTube channel, Strongman Rob Kearney shared an eating challenge wherein he tackles 30 boneless chicken wings with ranch sauce – that's more than 5 pounds of food, totaling upwards of 10,500 calories. A mammoth undertaking, you'll agree, even for a former American log lift record holder.

His energy-dense challenge is particularly well-timed. Next week, Kearney will face off against nine other competitors at the 2021 Rogue Invitational, which features the biggest single-competition prize purse in strongman history. So, presumably, he needs all the calories he can get right now.

In the last eating challenge Kearney posted to YouTube, the athlete demolished an 8,000-calorie sundae that included 15 scoops of ice cream and six different sugar-loaded toppings. Unfortunately – spoiler alert! – he doesn't quite make it the entire distance this time.

"I feel terrible," Kearney says, as the challenge grinds to a halt. Lifting the trays to show the camera, he remarks: "not great. Much, much more difficult than I thought it was going to be. I thought finishing was going to be questionable, but that I'd definitely get further than this."

Better luck next time, Kearney – you mightn't have made it to the end, but fingers crossed those extra few thousand calories set you up for a spot on the podium next week.
