Eddie Munson lives—and he attended Lollapalooza in Chicago over the weekend where he had an epic meeting with Metallica.

The iconic heavy metal band headlined the music festival on Thursday night, but before they hit the stage, they had a meet-and-greet with the Upside Down’s rock legend Joseph Quinn.

Quinn’s character became a fan-favorite after shredding Metallica’s “Master of Puppets” on the guitar in Stranger Things Season 4.

In the video, lead vocalist and guitarist James Hetfield revealed that he’s a huge fan of the Netflix series, adding that he has been watching since Season 1.

“Thank you so much for letting us use the track,” Quinn said, to which Hetfield replied, “thanks for doing it justice, by the way.”

“It’s all I was listening to for two years,” Quinn explained, adding that he feels “very connected” to the metal band.

And then, something straight out of a Netflix show happened… the band asked Quinn to go “jam.”

Quinn blew the group members away while channeling Munson's guitar skills before they declared that he’s “hired” and announced that they will be a “five piece” band going forward.

The group then gifted Quinn a guitar that looks just like the one Munson played in the show while trying to lure the demobats in hopes of saving his friends.

As Metallica autographed the guitar, Quinn looked on like a kid in a candy store.

When the band finally took the stage for their performance in the heart of downtown Chicago, an image of Munson appeared on-screen as they began playing the first few chords of “Master of Puppets.”

Based on the screams that erupted, the crowd was filled with Stranger Things and Eddie Munson fans!

Unfortunately, Quinn did not take the stage with the rock band, but we’re sure he was rocking out backstage.

Most. Metal. Ever.

Netflix posted the video on social media and Youtube with the caption: “🤘this is for Eddie 🤘

@josephquinn met Eddie Munson's heroes: @Metallica! Absolutely legendary!!”

Quinn’s portrayal of the “freak” Munson has resonated with fans all over the world, with a variety of tributes pouring in—from TikTok videos to an incredible corn crop circle.
