Ryan Murphy’s new show Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story starring Evan Peters has been the talk of the town since its release. The 10-episode series tells the story of one of the most notorious serial killers in America and details his vicious crimes.

Though the show has certainly received mixed reviews from critics and backlash from some viewers on social media, it has not stopped racking up huge numbers on the platform.

Per a new report by the streaming service, the limited series was viewed for a whopping 299.84M hours during its second week. Monster is now the second most watched English-language series (over the course of a week)—with the popular Stranger Things 4 claiming the top spot.

Additionally, the limited series has entered the all-time “Most Popular List” in ninth place with 496.05M total hours viewed so far.

Unlike documentaries centered around his crimes and confessions, Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story reverses the narrative and mainly focuses on his victims. The horrifying story is told through their perspective.

Alongside Peters, the ensemble cast includes Richard Jenkins (Lionel), Molly Ringwald (Shari), Michael Learned (Catherine), Niecy Nash (Glenda), Michael Beach (Dennis Murphy), Shaun J. Brown (Tracy), Colby French (Patrick), Mac Brandt (Robert), Grant Harvey (Rolf), Matthew Alan (Joseph) and Scott Michael Morgan (John).

Just by looking at all the buzz and controversy surrounding the show, it comes as no surprise it’s been able to achieve such big numbers in such a short time. However, it will be interesting to see what the show will achieve in the weeks to come.
