Watch Now: “Cracked Record”, Featuring Noah “Waggy” Wegrich
We've said it before, and we'll say it again: Noah Wegrich is one of California's most underrated surfers.
Maybe it's because he's soft spoken, or it might be that he tends to hunt obscure cold water spots and surf trips, so we mostly see him decked out in 5-mil wetsuits with boots and gloves.
No matter, because Waggy rips.
Last winter, Waggy and filmmaker Jonah Saffran collaborated on a project featuring Waggy's surfing along Central CA's rugged coast.
"There was a feeling of coldness this winter I wasn’t used to in California," says Saffran. "The kind that seeps into your bones. This feeling was all too common this year. Plagued by a strong La Niña winter we experienced one of the coldest and stormiest winters I have ever endured in California. Waggy and I hunted endlessly for corners amidst the storm. This is what we found."
Featuring a rap track, steezy turns, and too many air variations to count, the pair packed a lot into a 4-minute film, and it's definitely worth hitting that play button above.
