Watch This Model Give Himself a Badass 'John Wick'-Inspired Hair Transformation

From Men's Health

Keanu Reeves goes through a lot to prepare for each new movie in the increasingly sprawling John Wick universe, subjecting himself to multiple fight disciplines, weapons training, horseback riding, and all kinds of stunt training in order to transition from universally beloved actor to the titular assassin that literally nobody should mess with.

But it's not just about physical prowess, or reputedly being able to kill three men with a pencil. Wick also has to look the part, which means suitably grizzled-yet-chic styling and grooming choices. Because if you're going to embark on a mission of revenge, or go on the run from a horde of contract killers, you need a suit that will take you from day to night, and a low-maintenance beard and hairstyle that will withstand all kinds of weather (and blood).

In a recent video on the Beardbrand YouTube channel, model Carlos Costa takes on the challenge of transforming himself into a John Wick doppelganger, using a photo for the movie for inspiration—not to mention an array of grooming products—to recreate Keanu's look from the movies.

Costa begins by using a beard trimmer to carefully pare back his beard and reproduce the finer, "patchy" look sported by Keanu, including greater definition around the mouth and moustache. Then, in a move that will thrill Gen Z, he takes down his hair and parts it down the middle, and applies utility balm. "Just to condition it a little and give it a slightly wet look," he explains.

He follows this with styling balm, and the overall effect is an impressive one. If Keanu needs another body double for the next John Wick movie, he should give this guy a call.
