Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg is a controversial figure these days, and an increasingly frequent target of jokes: the internet sure had a lot of fun dunking on him following his introduction to the Metaverse. But while the tech CEO is unable to do anything about relentless memes on social media, he's actually quite capable of defending himself in the real world.

In a new training video which he shared on Instagram, Zuckerberg can be seen showing off his mixed martial arts prowess while sparring with pro fighter Khai "The Shadow" Wu. And it turns out, he is able to hold his own.

Zuckerberg has previously spoken about how exercise is an important part of his daily routine as it helps him deal with the pressures of his job, and in addition to combat sports, he's a big fan of getting out onto the water.

"If I try to just go straight into the day, every morning when I wake up and read through my emails and get the news, it's almost like getting punched," he said in a recent interview with Tim Ferriss. "I've found that basically doing something physical and something that's meditative to take my mind off it for an hour, so then I can reset and go do work, is really important. That's why things like foiling and surfing have been really important to me, because when you're out there on the water, it's pretty hard to focus on anything else."

A regular training partner of Zuckerberg's, Wu was gearing up for his 10th professional fight this weekend, which also happened to be his UFC Fight Pass debut. Wu didn't win that fight, but in an Instagram post afterwards he thanked his fans for their support. "I tried my best and thought I did enough to win," he wrote. "For what’s it worth the blood on my shorts were all my opponents haha."
