WATCH: Love is in the Air! Couple Meets — and Marries — On a Plane

May 14, 2014 started normally enough for Serbian actress Vjera Mujovic and German doctor Stefan Preis. They were both heading to the airport to fly to Mongolia, Mujovic for a theater festival and Preis for a vacation. When they got to the airport, though, things took an unexpected turn. The two passengers — then strangers — started chatting while they were in line for their Turkish Airlines flight, and later realized that they were sitting right next to each other on the plane, in seats 5B and 5C.

“I was seeing that lady in the crowd, but then we were entering the plane and she said, ‘You know, talking to you was really, like, nice, but there is my seat so have a nice flight.’ And I said, ‘Oh perfect, then we might go on, because this is my seat, too,” Preis says in the video.

Enter fate.

The pair spent the entire flight chatting, and hit it off enough to continue their relationship off the plane. One year later, they decided to honor their plane (but not plain) encounter and get married on Turkish Airlines flight 1082 from Belgrade to Istanbul.

The wedding was a first-class event. There was cake, champagne, rose petals, gifts, and even a live string trio. And to symbolize the way they met, the couple engraved their rings with the numbers 5B and 5C. Aww.

Clearly, Mujovic and Preis are jetsetters. And they might be trendsetters, too. Could the sky become the next big destination wedding location?
