Lana Condor might have been busy pretty much all year ‘round prepping all sorts of To All The Boys I've Loved Before-related content, but the actor is now giving us a glimpse at what her downtime looked like in Seoul.
To coincide with the release of P.S. I Still Love You’s brand new trailer, Instagram and Netflix teamed up to give us a behind the scenes at Lana’s time in the South Korean capital, where the TATB actors had been filming the series’s third and final installment.
“I just wrapped To All the Boys 3, which is sad, but today is a good day because I get to finally explore Seoul with three incredible locals who are awesome and you guys are going to freak out,” Lana says in the video, clad in an Adler High lacrosse team hoodie — because, truly, how else?
Part of IGTV’s #TeachMe series, we see Lana’s whirlwind 24-hours in Seoul post wrapping up the series. In the video, Lana is joined by three Korean creators; among which is none other than K-pop star Jeon Somi.
Lana and the former I.O.I. member link up in Somi’s dance studio in Seoul to practice a K-Pop dance routine. “I used to dance — a long time ago,” Lana says on her way to the studio. “Not sure if those moves are still in my body so this is going to be quite the experience.”
All nerves disappeared once she hit the dance floor with Somi though as the pair broke out some powerful dance moves to Somi’s very own “BIRTHDAY” — almost. “In my brain I thought K-pop dancing was just like [cutesy] with the hands,” Lana says when presented with the fast-paced choreo.
“What about we do it the lowest speed? And then we just fast-forward it like you did it?” Somi proposes in the end. And, what can we say? Despite the sly trick, the results are pretty impressive, and we’re here for Lana becoming a full-on K-pop star.
Apart from Somi’s dance lessons, Lana also gets a K-Beauty makeover courtesy of Risabae (which we want to recreate ASAP) and goes on a food tour along Seoul’s Gwangjang Market with singer and actor Henry Lau to try some mouthwatering nibbles — from Korean mandu to hand-pulled noodles. Now, who’s ready to go to Seoul?
