  • In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper squeezes a cyst filled with yellow frosting-like goop.

  • The cyst contents stream out in a wavy yellow ribbon, looking like freshly piped icing.

  • This type of cyst is actually called a steatocystoma, which are small, benign lumps that are filled with sebum.

In a new Instagram video, Dr. Pimple Popper—aka, dermatologist and TLC host Dr. Sandra Lee, MD—squeezes a cyst filled with yellow frosting-like goop. Cake decorating just got a lot more interesting.

In the clip, Dr. Lee nicks the skin concern and squeezes with a firm pinch. A waving ribbon of contents comes streaming out, looking something like frosting piped on a cake.

“You know what that yellow ribbon means,” Dr. Lee writes in the caption. “Steatocystomas!”

Steatocystomas are small, benign cysts that are filled with sebum. Sebum is a yellowish, oily substance that helps lubricate the hair, skin, and nails, according to the National Institute of Health.

To complete removing the steatocystoma, Dr. Lee goes back in to retrieve the cyst’s sac, which virtually guarantees the growth is gone for good. But this sac wall is slippery, making it tough to grip.

“People think, ‘Why are your tweezers not working?’ It’s because it’s slippery, man!” Dr. Lee says in the video, already responding to critics before they sound off in the comments. But Dr. Lee prevails in the end, snipping out the pesky sac with relative ease.
