True-crime hive, it's time to gather for a new installment of the Dirty John anthology series. Viewers of Dirty John season 2 can expect a buzzy re-brand for the series, including a new true-crime tale and different network to watch it on. Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story will follow the ripped-from-the-headlines divorce between California couple Betty Broderick (Amanda Peet) and Daniel T. Broderick III (Christian Slater) in the 1980s. After enduring five years of what the L.A. Times referred to as the "worst divorce case in San Diego County," Betty murdered her husband and his second wife, Linda Kolkena Broderick (Rachel Heller) in 1989.

The divorce, which involved threats and property damage, came after more than a decade of marriage between Betty and Dan. Their marital bliss crumbled after Dan began having an affair with his office assistant, Linda. That couple's relationship ended on the November night that Betty fatally shot both Dan and Linda with a .38-caliber revolver while they slept. Betty is currently serving out a 32 years to life sentence in a California prison. She was denied parole in 2017. She’ll next be eligible for parole in 2032, although that date could be moved up to as soon as 2024 depending on good behavior.

That explosive case is the source material for season 2, the first two episodes of which premiere tonight. Here's how to watch the juicy events go down.

The first season of Dirty John ended with an anti-cliffhanger, as infamous con-man John Meehan (Eric Bana) met his death after working to dismantle the life of wife Debra Newell (Connie Britton) for years. That story was based on the popular Los Angeles Times podcast of the same name and has no connection to season 2. Instead, viewers will get an inside look at another ill-fated marriage.

Dirty John: The Betty Broderick Story will premiere on Tuesday, June 2 at 9 p.m. ET with back-to-back episodes on the USA Network. That's a change from the series' first season, which premiered on Bravo, but it's s not the only change to watch out for. Beginning on June 9, a new episode of Dirty John will air every Tuesday night at 10 p.m. ET. Eight episodes total comprise this season.
