Watch a New Coke Ad That Makes a Nod Toward LGBTQ Diversity

Coca-Cola has released an ad featuring a brother and a sister competing to offer their muscled pool boy a bottle of Coke.

In the video released Thursday, the siblings scramble through the house with Coke bottles in hand—only to find that their mother has beaten them both to their goal.

The ad comes as part of the company’s “Taste the Feeling” campaign.

“This story has more layers, including a ‘wink’ that touches on our point of view regarding diversity and inclusion,” Rodolfo Echeverria, the vice president of Global Active Lifestyle at Coca-Cola Services wrote an email to AdAge. “We are managing our culturally relevant messages organically within our campaign spots not as the main subject of the story but as subtext.”

Roughly a year ago, McDonald’s released an ad featuring a boy coming out to his father.
