Watch Blair Conklin Air Over Johnny Redmond at Lakeside Surf Wave Pool (Clip)
Wave pools are so hot right now.
Some mimic a real, moving ocean wave like Kelly Slater's Surf Ranch where we just saw Rob Machado getting barreled. And some offer standing waves like Lakeside Surf in Washington.
Lakeside seems to be the wave pool of choice for pro skimboarder and surfer Blair Conklin lately, as we've seen him there shredding on multiple occasions. In the clip below he's back at Lakeside, just casually launching over people in the water.
Catch Surf captioned the post above:
"@blairconklin with the 3 Shuv over @johnnyredmond !!!"
The video shows regular foot Conklin going right on the standing wave. He flies down the face toward Redmond who's totally staying place on a boogie board and wearing a helmet.
Conklin approaches Redmond and launches right over his Catch Surf team buddy like it's nothing. Because for a guy like Conklin, it's easy-peasy. Just another day at the office.
Naturally, the Catch Surf team rider's on a soft top and it looks like he's fin-free again, something we recently reported he prefers.
In the same story, he explained why he likes going finless at Lakeside:
“It’s a deep water wave, so everyone wants to ride their regular surfboard on it. They promote the fin riding. But I’m really interested to see what wake skaters, or wake surfers – people from other backgrounds – can do on this thing.
In the comments, Catch Surf team member Kalani Robb wrote:
"That was sick."
