Bravery comes in many forms, and Daniel Biss, a 95-year-old WWII and Korean War veteran, was determined to show a little boy at the neighborhood pool that all you have to do is try.

USA Today reports that a child at the local pool was too afraid to jump off the diving board, so Biss stepped up and put on a brave face, even though he walks with a cane. With a little help from family and friends, he stepped onto the board, walked carefully to the end, and executed a dive into the pool.

His daughter, Christine Ross, recorded the moment her dad took his dive. You can hear her cautioning him to be careful, but he was determined.

Biss’s wife of 72 years is also a veteran and served in the Coast Guard as an administrative aid.

The video was also shared on Facebook by a group called Militarykind, and the commenters lauded his bravery — and expressed a bit of fear he’d fall. The video has been viewed over five million times.

Biss’s grandson Kevin Ross told USA Today, “Little did we know he would actually dive. He said soon after this video that he wants to be seen around the world.”

It seems his wish came true.
