A bench warrant has been issued for Aldon Smith after the former NFL linebacker didn’t show up in court on Thursday, TMZ Sports reported.

Smith failed to show in court, violating a protective order stemming from an alleged domestic violence incident with his fiancé earlier this month. The Raiders released Smith shortly after the March 3 incident, in which he reportedly “threw (his fiancé) around the room, but her on the wrist and climbed out the window,” according to a police dispatch call via KTVU in San Francisco.

Smith was then arrested again last Friday for contacting the victim of that March 3 incident, violating a court order.

Smith’s attorney, per TMZ, argued that Aldon has never missed a court date and planned to be present on Thursday.

Smith has had a long list of legal issues, and has been suspended multiple times by the NFL. The former Raiders and 49ers linebacker has only played in nine games since 2014.
