Walmart's 'Great Value' pork, turkey sausage recalled over salmonella concerns

More than 6,000 pounds of ready-to-eat pork and turkey sausage patties manufactured in Tennessee have been recalled over salmonella concerns, according to a USDA release.

The sausage products were made by George's Prepared Foods in Caryville, Tennessee, the press release from the USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service stated. Sold under Walmart's "Great Value" brand name, the items were shipped nationwide.

There have been no confirmed reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products, said the agency. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

The USDA urges consumers not to eat the products, and instead throw them away or return them to the place of purchase.
