The holidays are upon us. It’s a time of huge anticipation, shitty weather, soaring anxiety levels, and just overall emotional chaos. That’s why it’s the perfect time of year to start gaming. Instead of engaging in evening-long shouting matches about a college football team, or listening to your drunken cousin continually mispronounce “Buttigieg,” I recommend you hunker down under your grandmom’s handmade comforter in your childhood bedroom and play some god damn Pokémon. The Nintendo Switch is the most effective antidote to the Holiday Horrors, and it’s on sale today at Walmart for an enticingly wonderful price.

Walmart’s Nintendo Switch Bundle with Mario Red Joy-Con clocks in at $299. For a rare Switch like that (the Joy-Cons are red!), that’s a steal already. But Walmart is also throwing in a Mario & Bowser Edition carry case and a $20 Nintendo eShop Credit. If you’re a console gamer who’s looking to check out Nintendo’s latest stuff, or if you enjoyed games as a kid and feel like it’s time to get back into it, this bundle is a fantastic place to start. You’re getting everything you need to play immediately, except for the games. That’s where the gift card comes in.

Right now, you can pick up a ton of titles on the Nintendo eShop for less than $20. If it were up to me, though, I’d make it a federal law that everyone purchases Untitled Goose Game this holiday season. The strange, minimalist indie game from Hello Games—which we loved here at Esquire—is available online for just $19.99. Within moments of peeling open the box, you can be walking around a peaceful English village, causing mayhem as a fun-loving goose with anarchy on the mind. Hell, Walmart should be calling this the Goose Game bundle.

The Switch Walmart Bundle is available now on Walmart’s website, although it’s not clear as to how long it will be up. Happy holidays, gamers.
