Vote for Mississippi boys and girls high school athlete of the week April 3-8

There were several top performers across the state in boys and girls high school sports, but only one can be voted athlete of the week for April 3-8.

Fans may vote in the poll below one time per hour per device. The poll closes at noon on Friday.

BOYS NOMINATIONS

Ian Henry, Biloxi: The senior went 4-of-10 with two home runs in Biloxi's three-game sweep of Hancock last week.

Hayden Carlini, Hernando: The senior allowed one hit along with nine strikeouts in five innings of Hernando's 15-0 victory over Horn Lake on April 4.

Konnor Griffin, Jackson Prep: The LSU commitment held Hartfield Academy to one hit with 11 strikeouts in Jackson Prep's 9-0 victory over the Hawks on April 3. Griffin also went 4-of-9 from the plate during the three-game sweep.

Cole Prosek, Magnolia Heights: The Ole Miss commitment had two home runs in a double-header against Starkville Academy on April 4. The Chiefs outscored Volunteers 29-3 in those games.

GIRLS NOMINATIONS

Peyton Collins, George County: The eight grader had eight strikeouts and allowed one hit in seven innings in a 6-0 victory over Pearl River Central. Collins also had six strikeouts in a 5-0 victory over Picayune.

Kate Johnson, Hernando: The sophomore allowed two hits with 10 strikeouts in seven innings as Hernando defeated Lewisburg 2-0 on April 3.

Gracie Williams, Kosciusko: The senior went 3-of-4 with three doubles and three RBIs in Kosciusko's 10-0 victory over Choctaw Central. Williams also had a home run and two RBIs in 9-3 victory over the Warriors on April 4.

Baylee McWilliams, Raleigh: The senior held South Jones to four hits with eight strikeouts in Raleigh's 11-0 victory on April 3. McWilliams also went 2-of-3 with an RBI in the victory.
