'The Voice' playoffs begin with standout performances, short-lived comebacks, and a fiddle!
The playoffs are back on The Voice, where the singers are not messing around. Davon Fleming got the night started off right with a dreamy performance of Jennifer Hudson‘s “I Am Changing.” Noah Mac went above and beyond as the other standout performance on Team JHud with the Phil Collins hit “In the Air Tonight.”
Davon and Noah both made it to the Top 12, which left one spot open on Team JHud. Grocery store clerk Lucas Holliday, who was Hudson’s comeback artist, did everything he could to attain that spot. Getting down on his knees and screaming Prince‘s “The Beautiful Ones” was entertaining, but it wasn’t enough to move Lucas onto the live shows. In a surprise move, Jennifer went with 15-year-old Shi’ann Jones instead of the more polished Hannah Mrozak.
With Team JHud set, it was Blake Shelton‘s turn to cut his team in half. His comeback artist, Natalie Stovall, left a memorable impression on the coaches. Natalie sang “Callin’ Baton Rouge” by Garth Brooks and was able to show off her fiddle-playing skills. But Natalie wasn’t back for long either, as Blake picked Keisha Renee, Red Marlow, and Chloe Kohanski to move on to the Top 12.
