'Voice' contestant gets choked up during emotional finale performance

It was an emotional night of performances on part one of The Voice finale Monday. The show started with Addison Agen getting a little choked up at the end of her performance of Tim McGraw‘s “Humble and Kind.” Addison had a hard time singing the last few lines of the song, and Jennifer Hudson liked the raw emotion. “That’s what moments like this is [sic] about,” Jennifer told Addison. “When you break down and have a moment like that. That’s what makes it that much more real to us.”

Country singer Red Marlow must have heard Jennifer, because he also got emotional while talking about singing “The Dance” by Garth Brooks in front of his parents. Then Red made everyone feel his love with a performance of another Garth Brook song, “Make You Feel My Love.”

While it was an emotional night for the final four contestants, it was a holy night for Brooke Simpson, who sang, “O Holy Night.”

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on NBC. Watch clips and full episodes of The Voice free on Yahoo View.
