VMAs 2023 Winners: See Every Category Here
The 2023 MTV Video Music Awards were a long, action-packed, long, star-studded pop culture odyssey… and did we mention they were long? Whew. Anyway, the VMAs 2023 winners list is finally here. Keep scrolling to see if any of your favorite musicians won their first — or twentieth — Moon Person.
This year's VMAs were broadcast live on Tuesday, September 12 from Newark, New Jersey's Prudential Center. Rap icon Nicki Minaj returned as host show emcee after sharing her hosting duties last year with LL Cool J and Jack Harlow.

Minaj served double duty at this year's show, as she also took the stage as a performer to debut her new single “Last Time I Saw You" from Pink Friday 2. The MTV stage had an overwhelming amount of performances this year from beloved global acts like Olivia Rodrigo, Stray Kids, Doja Cat, Sabrina Carpenter — who improv'd a NSFW VMAs-themed “Nonsense" outro — Karol G, Cardi B and Megan Thee Stallion, TXT, Fall Out Boy, Peso Pluma, and Video Vanguard recipient Shakira and Global Icon honoree P. Diddy.
What a night.
The most nominated act of the night was Taylor Swift, with a total of 8 nominations in almost every eligible category including the major two brackets Artist of the Year and Video of the Year. SZA was close behind Swift with 6 nods, and tied for third place with 5 nominations each were Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Olivia Rodrigo, Sam Smith, and Nicki Minaj.
But who was the biggest winner? Swifties, this one was for you. The “Anti-Hero” singer made history at this year's VMAs by winning 9 Moon Persons in one night, becoming the second-most awarded artist in VMAs history with 23 total wins (behind Beyoncé, who has 30) and the most awarded female artist in one night.
