Attention Kmart shoppers, you’re going to hope there is a sale on tissues after watching this viral video of a Kmart manager making one final announcement as her store closes its doors after nearly 55 years.

Lisa Wilson, the manager at the New Kensington, Penn., Kmart, fought back tears as she bid farewell to customers and employees, who felt more like family, on Sunday over the store’s intercom. The grandmother and evening supervisor became well known for her voice over the past eight years she worked at the chain store. Her daughter, Christina, filmed the speech on her cell phone, according to KDKA.

“The time now is 6 p.m., and the night has come that’s bittersweet,” Wilson began. “The New Kensington Kmart will no longer be the place to meet.”

Wilson, who’s grandchildren knew the store as “Grammy’s Kmart,” continued, “Many loyal customers have shared good memories about our store, and we will always hold them dear, even after they lock our door.”

The video, which has over 68,000 views on Facebook, continues, “We can be proud that our Kmart made it just shy of 55 years. As we leave this final time I’m sure [there will] be laughter, hugs and a few tears. Here’s to one last time of ‘Security, clear the floor!’ Our New Kensington Kmart store is no more.”

In October, Sears Holdings, which operates both Sears and Kmart stores, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection. As a result, Sears Holding announced it would close 142 unprofitable stores, adding to the already announced 46 closings.

The New Kensington Kmart opened on Feb. 27, 1964, according to the Tribune-Review, and closed its doors on Sunday, Jan. 6, 2019.

To Wilson, her coworkers were her “great big family.”
