The Viral Green Bean Dish That Might Unseat Green Bean Casserole This Year
Green-bean bundles
Thanksgiving is less than a week away, and if you haven’t already started, now is the perfect time to gather your recipes. While most of the planning and effort goes into preparing the ceremonial turkey (and we aren’t by any means mad about it), sides often end up being discarded as backup singers when they really carry the entire meal.
Like Beyoncé, turkey shines on its own, but when paired with the perfect ratio of creamy mashed potatoes and the richness of herbaceous stuffing, you end up with a symphony of flavor that’s impossible to replicate. Fortunately, sides are getting their moment in the spotlight, and yours truly couldn’t be happier.

If your family is anything like mine, you’ve probably been given your respective assignments for the larger-than-life feast, and this year, my family has tasked me with preparing the green beans. Typically, green beans find their way into a delicious green bean casserole around the holidays, but @britscookin on TikTok has us second-guessing our recipe.
Delicious-looking bacon-wrapped green bean bundles made their way to our meticulously curated feeds, and we haven’t stopped looking away.

To prepare these tantalizing parcels of goodness, you’ll want to start with a 2-pound bag of fresh green beans. After snipping off the ends, toss the beans into a pot of boiling water for 3 to 5 minutes. Next, you’ll cut your bacon in half and then take about five green beans and wrap the bacon around each bundle. Once you have your bundles all prepared, you’ll place them on a sheet tray and preheat your oven to 450°F.

For the next step, you’ll prepare a sauce to spoon over the neatly wrapped parcels, and the TikToker creates one using butter, brown sugar, soy sauce, minced garlic, garlic salt, and black pepper to taste. All that’s left to do is pour the liquid gold over the bundles and place into your oven for 20 to 25 minutes, basting them with the residual sauce halfway through.
If you haven’t already tossed your green bean casserole recipe out the window, the comments section was flooded with users who’ve decided to make the switch. “Omg I would totally take this over green bean casserole!!” said one user. “I’m making this on Thanksgiving 🙌🙌” shared another excited user.
