Video of Rescued Cow Cuddling Up to 'His Person' Is Absolutely Beautiful

You can tell he finally feels safe and secure.

Sometimes when animals escape painful and traumatic environments, they become distrustful of humans. This is why it's so important for people to have patience and care for rescue animals. A group of cows were rescued from a situation like this five years ago and a recent TikTok video is showing us why giving them the patience they need is so important.

The Gentle Barn is a farm that provides sanctuary for abused animals who would not otherwise be able to find homes. Their TikTok page, @thegentlebarn, recently shared a sweet video of one of their cows, Roo, cuddling with his personal volunteer. In the caption, The Gentle Barn explains that Roo escaped a slaughterhouse five years ago and was terrified of humans when he was rescued. Over time, with the help of his volunteer, he learned to trust and lean into snuggles. Check out the video to see this adorable moment between Roo and his volunteer, and celebrate Roo's accomplishment!

OMG, this is such a beautiful moment. We love that Roo was able to overcome his trauma and develop such a trusting relationship with his volunteer. We're so happy Roo found his person!

People in the comments were amazed at the progress Roo made. @denisthepenis said, "I can't imagine how safe the cow must’ve felt l in that moment!" and @house_of_e_rescue commented, "What a beautiful gift of vulnerability, trust and love that he’s sharing with his person. Such a sweet moment." We're so glad Roo has been able to come this far in his recovery!

Others loved the idea of volunteering as an animal's docent. @thatgirlkrystal05 commented, "Gosh. I would do this in a heartbeat if I didn’t live so many states away." Another user, @sabrina131313, said, "I’m a volunteer at a farm sanctuary and there is nothing like the feeling of trust from an abused baby." This seems like such a rewarding experience, we would love to become volunteers ourselves!

We are thankful for The Gentle Barn's efforts to provide Roo a safe and comforting environment and for Roo's volunteer, who gave him the love and trust he needed. All animals deserve a chance to live a peacefully and loved, and these volunteers provide that for the rescued animals.
