Video premiere: Peelander-Z debuts 'Go PZ Go/Yeah Yeah Yeah'

Peelander-Z — the visually imaginative, bizzaro band billed as Japanese Action Comic Punk — is known for its colorful, audience-interactive shows in which nothing less than pure insanity can happen (and should be fully expected!). The band is poised to follow up its 2014 full-length hair-metal tribute album Metalander-Z with a new album, Go PZ Go, on Apr. 6.

Yahoo Entertainment is excited to debut the video for the new record’s single “Go PZ Go / Yeah Yeah Yeah,” a fun and stunning animated clip done solely with paper and pencils.

The video was directed by comedy writer, director, and animator Jimbo Matison, whom some may recognize as the official voice of Sega — screaming in hundreds of their commercials in the 1990s. Says Matison of the video: “Making a video for Peelander-Z is a great challenge — you have to make it as fast and fun as they are. My goal was to make something frenetic and fun, but I also wanted it to be as simple as possible; stripped down, lo-fi entertainment. We did it all with construction paper and colored pencils.”
