Victoria Beckham Beauty's Future Lash Mascara Answered My Hooded Eyelids Prayers

Typically, I'm not about running to the nearest beauty retailer to grab a new mascara drop, but when Victoria Beckham Beauty announced Future Lash, the latest addition to the Posh-inspired makeup line, I knew this mascara was worth the errand in 20-degree weather. The claim of a smudge-proof formula that's easily removed with warm water — and warm water alone — had me simultaneously skeptical and excited.
My hooded eyelids had just about given up all hope of finding a mascara that would last all day without leaving black streaks across my eyelids while being hassle-free to remove. Yes, I know what you're thinking: Waterproof mascara would help with the smudging. But taking it off is never as gentle as my sensitive eyes would like.
What really sold me, though, is Future Lash's innovative water-activated instant release technology (IRT) — along with its nourishing C2 complex formula, which claims to strengthen lashes with ingredients like shea butter, panthenol, and niacinamide — working in tandem to add hydration while conditioning lashes.
Of course, I had to put it to the test the second I arrived home. Future Lash in hand, I twisted off the cap from the sleek, black weighted tube, revealing a surprisingly tapered, half-moon shaped applicator with short bristles on both the inner and outer rim. I found this help control the product application and reduced the chances of product build-up. Because my lashes are quite long, lengthening was not as high of a priority as definition and volume. I started wiggling the tapered wand as close to my waterline as possible before sweeping upward for a lifted, fuller lash.
Two passes are all it took for Future Lash to give me ultra-black, fluttery lashes. As for the smudge-proof claim, it's legit — even with a humid, sweaty face mask on, creating enough condensation to melt off most mascaras. No smudging or bleeding accrued after a day of running errands around New York City.
Now, my favorite part: the removal process. As much as I wish this moment was documented (my facial expression, included), I overlooked the warm-water-only removal claim and jumped right into my shower. Because I have low-porosity hair, I always rinse my hair first, and it takes a minute or so for my curls to completely saturate. Wiping water away from my eyes, to my surprise, black filaments ran down my face and onto my hands. It couldn't be that easy, could it? I gave my eyes another gentle rub with the slightest bit of pressure, and voilà — the mascara completely melted away.
After washing my face with my go-to CeraVe cleanser, I hopped out of the shower and went straight to the mirror. To my amazement, there were no marks, smudges, or even a hint of raccoon eyes. No need for cotton rounds or a raccoon-eyed morning after swearing you washed it all off the night before; this time, it was off for good.
Since my first application (and cleanse), Victoria Beckham Beauty's Future Lash Mascara has proven time and time again, it is possible to have it all — at least with mascara. My hooded eyes could not be more impressed.
