Rita Isbell, the sister of Errol Lindsey, one of Jeffrey Dahmer's victims, has spoken out about Netflix's new show MONSTER Dahmer: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story.

Also known as the 'Milwaukee Cannibal', Jeffrey Dahmer was responsible for the murder of 17 men and boys between 1978 and 1991. His sickening crimes involved dismemberment, necrophilia and cannibalism, with the Netflix dramatisation illustrating the heinous methods he used during the murders.

In court, a sanity trial found Dahmer to be legally sane. He was jailed for life in 1992 - given 15 consecutive life sentences, equating to 957 years in prison. He was also later issued a 16th life sentence.

During the sentencing, Rita Isbell took to the stand to deliver an emotional victim impact statement about her brother Errol, which has since gone viral on social media.

Now, Isbell has spoken out about the impact of the 10-part true crime dramatisation in an interview with Insider. She explained that watching the fictionalised version of herself on screen, played by DaShawn Barnes, "bothered me", because "it felt like reliving it all over again. It brought back all the emotions I was feeling back then.

"The episode with me was the only part I saw. I didn't watch the whole show. I don't need to watch it. I lived it. I know exactly what happened."

Isbell then added that she was never contacted about The Jeffrey Dahmer Story being made, and would have liked to think any revenue from the series would go towards the victims' children.

"I feel like Netflix should've asked if we mind or how we felt about making it. They didn't ask me anything. They just did it. I could even understand it if they gave some of the money to the victims' children... If the show benefited them in some way, it wouldn't feel so harsh and careless."
