Veiled Beauty at Chanel Couture

Chanel never fails to supply us with a healthy dose of beauty and hair inspiration, and today’s Spring 2015 Couture Show was no exception. Models hit the runway with glossy rose lips, a smoky line of gray shadow across brows, and netted veils covering the eyes. Makeup artist Tom Pecheux worked with hair stylist Sam McKnight to create this dreamy and playful beauty look for the runway. Many of the veils were paired with knit hats, adding a glam twist to the winter essential.

Chanel wasn’t alone in their use of this retro headpiece, the models at the Giambattista Valli couture show in Paris hit the catwalk with spotted veils tied with ribbons, a look created by stylist Orlando Pita. While this beauty look is definitely a statement, it is actually a little easier to pull off than you might think.

We went straight to luxury hair accessory queen Jennifer Behrshe was the woman behind many of Blair Waldorf’s Gossip Girl headbands—to find this simple white veiled headband to try on our model, Gabi. The key to pulling this look off without looking too theatrical? Simple makeup. Pair a statement hair accessory with fresh, luminous skin, a flick of black liner, and a pretty pink lip. It might not be a look for the office, but give it a go for at your next party and you’ll steal the show.
