Vanderpump Rules' Stassi Schroeder Gets Wine Brand Pulled From Shelves After Racist Behavior Resurfaces
Two stars of Vanderpump Rules, Stassi Schroeder and Kristen Doute, released public apologies on social media this week after racially insensitive comments and behavior resurfaced. As a response to these allegations, the pair's wine brand, Witches of WeHo, is being removed from shelves.
An instance from 2018, when Stassi and Kristen called the cops on their Vanderpump co-star Faith Stowers, a Black woman, have come to light. Faith was recording an Instagram Live with Floribama Shore's Candace Rice when she described her experience as the only Black cast member during her time on VPR.
"I did a show with an all-white cast. I was the only black person on the show. It was a lot," she said on the Instagram Live. Faith went on to recall a time when her two former castmates Stassi and Kristen accused her of committing a crime in 2018.
According to Us Weekly, Faith was invited back on the show to explain her side of the story, but she declined the offer when she heard Stassi talk about the incident in a now-deleted episode of her friend's podcast "Bitch Bible." Faith explained that Stassi and Kristen called the cops on her when they saw a photo online of the suspect of a crime and the pair assumed it was Faith.
"There was this article on Daily Mail where there was an African-American lady. It was a weird photo, so she looked very light-skinned and had these different, weird tattoos. They showcased her, and I guess this woman was robbing people. And they called the cops and said it was me," Faith said on Live: "It was just funny, because they thought it was me because it was a black woman with a weave. So they just assumed it would be me, and they called the cops on me."
Both Stassi and Kristen have since been fired from Vanderpump Rules and now, Nocking Point, the company that manufactures Stassi and Kristen's wine brand, will no longer be producing or selling their products. Basic Witch Potion No. 1 and Potion No. 2 Basic Witch Rosé have been removed from their website. "It's long gone and we won't be selling more," a rep told the magazine.
