‘Vanderpump Rules’ star Scheana Shay reveals what it’s been like for her to watch this season back

It’s all happening on Vanderpump Rules right now, and Scheana Shay has something to say about it.

The original cast member of the hit Bravo show has been letting viewers into her life for a decade now, but the so-called Scandoval proved there are still things that can surprise even her. When news broke in early March that Tom Sandoval had been carrying on a seven-month affair with co-star Raquel Leviss behind the back of his girlfriend of nearly a decade, Ariana Madix, the entire world of reality TV shook. For someone who was close with all three of them, it felt like an absolute betrayal for Scheana.

In the months since, she has been giving fans an intimate look into her evolving feelings as they pertain to Scandoval, how Ariana’s been holding up and more on her popular podcast, Scheananigans With Scheana Shay. So too has Lala Kent. In response, Sandoval said in his first post-scandal interview that he thought his female co-stars were capitalizing on the scandal.

Ahead of partnering with Smirnoff to host the first-ever Locura Tour, a pre-Cinco de Mayo party in Chicago, Scheana appeared on In The Know by Yahoo’s pop culture interview series, We Should Talk, where she talked all things Vanderpump Rules. She also responded to Sandoval’s accusations that she’s capitalizing on the controversy, what it’s been like watching her best friend, Ariana, thrive after experiencing heartbreak, whether she regrets initially believing that nothing was going on between Raquel and Sandoval and much more.

“It feels good to have all of this women empowerment going on in our friend group on the show. This has actually brought some of us closer together. Where there’s heartbreak, there has also been some makeups and new friendships blossoming again that maybe we thought would never,” Scheana told ITK while promoting her partnership with Smirnoff Spicy Taramind. “I’m just trying to see all of the positives in something that was so hard. To say that we’re capitalizing on it? Our life is our job; our job is our life. They’re intertwined. They’re very hard to separate. I guarantee you that if I was going through the same thing, they would be doing that as well.”
