What is ‘vampire skin’? The new beauty TikTok trend replaces ‘glass skin’

Twilight-obsessed TikTokers are making vampire skin the latest beauty trend.

You may not remember the Twilight movies. All you need to know is the male protagonist, Edward Cullen, is a 104-year-old vampire with glittering skin dating a 17-year-old girl. But it’s only the glowing skin here that people are after.

See this bedroom turn into a vibrant oasis after an incredible one-day renovation:

Influencer August Sombatkamrai started the “vampire skin” trend on Sept. 30. The video has since racked up over 1.3 million views.

“If you guys want to go as a Cullen for Halloween, just add orange contact lenses,” Sombatkamrai wrote in the caption.

They mixed their foundation (MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15 Foundation) with liquid glitter (Made by Mitchell Blursh Lights Liquid Highlighter in Drip Drip and Beauty Bay Liquid Crystal Eyeshadow in Precious Topaz) and applied it by pressing it into the skin.

Next, they added powdered silver glitter (Sensorium Beauty The Shimmer and Urban Decay Moondust in Space Cowboy) for even more shimmer.

“The trick is to actually not use too much foundation,” Sombatkamrai explained in an update; adding one pump of a sheer foundation will do.

Since Sombatkamrai’s video went viral, the hashtag #vampireskin now has 2.7 million views.

TikToker @itsurgrlaisha_ gave vampire skin a try and called Sombatkamrai an “innovator.”

Meanwhile, @fatyabiyaaa declared she was “obsessed” with the effect it gave. Nothing spooky to see here.

TikToker @abbeyyung claimed that her drugstore skin care routine gave her vampire skin, not any makeup.
