Solitude Mountain Resort, Utah, has announced it will open a week earlier than planned tomorrow, November 10th.

Travis Holland, a representative of Solitude, credits the early opening to the resort's hardworking snowmaking team and a recent spate of snowy weather.

"That last storm over-delivered, and we know local diehards are itching to get up here and make a few turns," wrote Holland in correspondence with POWDER.

The initial opening will span from November 10th to November 12th, with the resort temporarily closing Monday through Thursday next week before officially reopening on Friday, November 17th.

The Link lift -- a two-seater -- will serve the Easy Street trail from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. this weekend, with tickets costing a reduced $25. Parking is free without reservations during the early season stoke event.

"We are committed to offering the longest season possible and we know local skiers and snowboarders can't wait to get back on the snow," said Amber L. Broadaway, Solitude's president & chief operating officer. "It's been the hard work of our mountain operations team that has made this weekend possible. They have been working around the clock to maximize snowmaking efforts when conditions allow and have set us up for another amazing season."

Solitude's planned opening day festivities, including the DJ and donuts party, will still occur on Friday, November 17th.
