Usher Praised After Clip of 1997 Performance Resurfaces: ‘He’s Still Got It’

The R&B icon amazed fans with his ability to ace a dance break 25 years after he first performed it.

Usher stole even more hearts recently when fans on the internet resurfaced a clip of a performance from 1997 and compared it to one from 2022.

One user on Twitter shared the two videos side by side, writing, "Love that he can still hit the moves from the dance break 25 years later."

In both clips, Usher performs the dance break to "You Make Me Wanna...," the lead single of his second album, My Way, which came out in the summer of 1997.

The old video is of a performance at the Apollo Theater when he was 19 years old. The second video is from 2022, when Usher performed the song as a major throwback.

But what really amazed fans was how perfectly his dancing was, proving that 25 years later, "He's still got it!," as one fan wrote.

The R&B artist had a residency at Park MGM in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2022 through October, before taking a break for the holidays. But don't worry, he's coming back for more shows from March through July in 2023, so now's the time to grab your ticket.

In September last year, Usher celebrated the release of his iconic 1997 album My Way with the release of My Way (25th Anniversary Edition). While it was a great way to honor his past work, fans are very eager for new music.

Usher previously said that the new album would drop in 2022, but that wasn't the case, so fingers crossed it finally arrives in 2023!
