In nearly 25 years of existing, I've always believed that a good night's sleep begins and ends with a good mattress. Truthfully, I didn't think sheets with even a billion-thread count and the most expensive comforter could make a serious difference, and kind of compared my bed to a piece of cake. Hear me out: You want a cake to be fluffy and delicious, the same way you want a mattress to be comfortable. As for the blanket, that's just like icing, and icing is usually pretty good even when it's not. It kind of makes sense, right? Well, as it turns out, I was very wrong.

Enter Buffy's Cloud Comforter, making me gush like a sixth-grade school girl with a crush. It's also what I'm deeming to be the World's Comfiest Blanket.

Made from recycled plastic bottles and with spa-grade eucalyptus fiber, Buffy's comforters and bedding are good for two things: The environment, and actually getting you to sleep through the night. The comforter could probably make actual clouds jealous with its soft touch. It feels so incredibly lovely on my skin, that I might just have an email written to Buffy, asking that they please also come out with underwear, bras, and pants. No, really. I'd like to live in this material.

So how did I go from blindly purchasing duvet covers at HomeGoods to falling in love with a $160 comforter that I can't stop talking about to anyone who will listen? When I sleep, I like to be cool but I'm naturally pretty warm, so I'd often find myself at 3 a.m., extremely hot, tossing and turning for the rest of the night. I chalked it up to a Danielle problem, and figured it had nothing to do with a blanket—I was just warm, and that is how I would sleep for the rest of my life. (Depressing!) Eventually, I learned about Buffy.

I stalked it like an ex's new girlfriend on Twitter and Instagram and realized it has as much of a cult following as Brooklinen and Parachute. After all of the cute Instagram posts, I succumbed and decided I needed it. Millennial tendencies run through my blood, all right?!

I tested the Cloud Comforter for two months—in disgusting, humid, New-York-City-late-summer weather, mind you—and I've been using it ever since. My biggest complaint is that it has never been harder for me to leave my bed at 5 a.m. to exercise. It's just too damn comfy to ever want to get up. So here I am—someone who never thought it was possible to be obsessed with a comforter—telling you that I am indeed obsessed with a comforter.

5 things you should know about Buffy.

  1. The Cloud Comforter is a plant-based comforter that lets unwanted heat out, making it great for people who get warm at night. For extra hot sleepers, the brand released an even cooler version called the Breeze.

  2. Each comforter uses spa-grade eucalyptus fabric which is softer and lighter than cotton.

  3. The comforters are made with 50 recycled water bottles, and use ten times less water while being made then the average comforter.

  4. The Cloud Comforter starts at $130 for a Twin/Twin XL. The Breeze starts at $180.

  5. You can try it for free.

And the best part? The Cloud Comforter is currently on sale at Buffy—just head to its website to shop and use the code CLOUD20 to save 20 percent on your purchase. It's unclear how long the sale is going on, though, so now's the time to act.
