The 'This Is Us' Season 5 Finale Will Not Air in Its Normal Time Slot

The season 5 finale of This Is Us is upon us.

Since premiering in the fall, the fifth season of the NBC drama has had a stop-and-go schedule caused by production delays stemming from the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. Thankfully, with only one more episode to go, that’s all behind us now.

In last week’s episode, we watched Kevin (Justin Hartley) and Madison (Caitlin Thompson) have their bachelor and bachelorette parties ahead of their big day. But their celebrations weren't exactly what you'd expect — Kevin’s bachelor party turned into a night of him speaking frankly with Randall (Sterling K. Brown) about marrying the right person, while things got awkward at Madison’s bachelorette party thanks to a run-in with her ex.

With both Madison and Kevin experiencing their own versions of cold feet, the finale is shaping up to be a dramatic one. If you’re planning on watching in real time, you’ll need to be ready for the show’s time change: The season 5 finale of This Is Us will air on Tuesday, May 25 at 10 p.m. ET. Yes, you read that right. The last episode of the fifth season will be shown on NBC an hour later than usual thanks to the two-hour season finale of The Voice.

But not to worry if you can't stay up that late to watch — you can always catch the season 5 finale on Hulu the next morning. For those without a Hulu subscription, you can try out the streaming service with a 30-day free trial. After it’s done, you can consider signing up for a plan starting at $5.99 a month.

No matter what happens on Kevin and Madison's big day, we’ll still have one more season of This Is Us to look forward to. The sixth and final season of This Is Us is set to premiere in late 2021 or early 2022. NBC has promised fans that they'll get to watch all 18 episodes uninterrupted.
