In a new interview with Variety, producer Joe Russo revealed that the film is a musical, and to help make it feel more modern, they're taking inspiration from TikTok.

He said, "There are questions about how you translate it as a musical. Audiences today have been trained by TikTok, right? What is their expectation of what that musical looks like and feels like? That can be a lot of fun and help us push the boundaries a little bit on how you execute a modern musical.”

He goes on to say that Hercules will be “a little bit more experimental in tone, a little bit more experimental in execution.”

While we don't know exactly what Russo means by this, people took to Twitter to voice their concerns over what they think is a bad idea.

While others jokingly speculated about what a TikTok-inspired Hercules would even look like.

Well, I imagine it'll be a while before we get any info on what a TikTok-inspired Hercules looks like, but at least we have the jokes to tide us over until then!
