Unistella's Park Eunkyung Created "Pierced" Nails Without Actually Piercing Any Nails
Our May "Best of Global Beauty" cover spotlighted some of the biggest international celebrities around: K-pop stars. If there is anything you may recall from that shoot, it's that our cover star, Jihyo, was wearing a seriously beautiful set of nails — as were all the other K-pop idols we shot for the story. The mastermind behind those manicures is arguably Korea's biggest nail artist in the game: Unistella's Park Eunkyung.
Since nail technicians in South Korea are now slowly and safely going back to work, it's only appropriate that we share some of the new designs they're creating. On June 21, Eunkyung shared her latest manicure, which happens to come just in time for a major music drop from one of K-pop's biggest bands: Blackpink's "How You Like That."
Eunkyung (who, by the way, has an entire personal closet dedicated to her extensive press-on nail collection) is known for her out-of-this-world designs. Since South Korea's shops are now open, she's back to blessing the hands of K-pop stars, including her latest client, Jisoo (a member of the group Blackpink), for who she created a badass "pierced" manicure.
The nail artist shared the detailed carousel of photos to her Instagram with the caption: "Finally, #jisoo_piercednails .(👈🏻 @sooyaaa__ 🖤 moments)#howyoulikethat."
Like that? Ma'am, we love it. And so do the folks in the comments. One fan wrote: "Never disappointed😌😌," while another agreed, saying: "They're beautiful😌🖤💗."
To get the look, it appears that Eunkyung applied light beige, claw-shaped acrylics, and glued a small metal ball to either side of a few of the nails, giving them that "pierced" effect.
Jisoo wears the look on her teaser poster for Blackpink's latest unreleased single, "How You Like That," making Eunkyung's hashtag all the more appropriate.
