This Unexpected Makeup Product Is the Secret to Brock Collection’s Bushy Statement Brows

As the label behind fashion’s favorite brocade bustiers and dreamy duster coats, Brock Collection has come to be synonymous with a certain refined and romantic glamour. It might come as a surprise, then, that this season the secret weapon in every Brock girl’s beauty arsenal wasn’t a face-filtering foundation or a supercharged highlighter, but rather a bold, black lipstick applied at eye-level.

“I’m doing a bushy ‘Brooke Shields’ brow,” makeup artist Gucci Westman said backstage as she dipped a small angled brush in an opaque onyx shade from Lipstick Queen before painting individual strokes onto model Marine Deleeuw’s arches—a subversive, albeit subtle move that allows for more precision than a typical pencil or powder. Also, thanks to the glossy texture, “it doesn’t feel too makeup-y,” she added while topping off the face framers with a spoolie coated in Westman Atelier’s light-catching Lit Up Highlight Stick. The result was a set of strong, sheen-enhanced statement brows that gave an enticing edge to spring 2020’s sweeping floral frocks and larger-than-life bow embellishments. #BrockBabes, welcome to the dark side.
