The Umbrella Academy fans are all confused about the same season 3 detail

After months of anticipation, The Umbrella Academy season 3 finally landed on Netflix yesterday, and fans are already taking to social media to share reactions and fan theories. But there is one thing they're all a bit confused about: the ending.

If you've been anywhere near Netflix in the past two days, you'll know the third instalment of the Hargreeves siblings' story is here, and it's already trending across the UK.

*Spoilers* It's fair to say, though, some fans have been left with more questions than answers about the season finale. In it, both the Umbrellas and the Sparrows ventured through a portal in the Hotel Obsidian's White Buffalo Suite, to the Hotel Oblivion, an alternate version of the hotel.

It later turns out they're actually in a machine in another dimension, and they need to find the sigil in order to reach the next step in resetting the universe. After splitting into teams and a lot of chaos, the series ends with Allison pressing some buttons on the doomsday computer and booting the Umbrellas back to a 'normal' universe - only it's one where they don't have their powers.

The post-credit scene shows Ben Hargreeves wearing glasses, sitting on a Korean subway train. We hear the words "This train is bound for Yeoudio Station," before the scene cuts to black.

If you're feeling a bit confused about the whole thing, you're really not alone. In fact, many fans have taken to social media to voice their bewilderment at the ending. "Just finished watching the entire season of [The] Umbrella Academy season 3 and I think I need time to process the ending... what the actual **** just happened," one person wrote.

Another put, "Me trying to figure out what the ending of [The] Umbrella Academy season 3 means" and a third added, "LMAO WTF was that ending?? Just finished the entire season 3 of The Umbrella Academy HAHAHA."

Yep, we have more questions than answers.

The Umbrella Academy season 3 is now streaming on Netflix.
