But it turns out she was busy with some seriously important work-related business.
What’s so interesting, Kelly Clarkson?
The Top 8 Eliminations on The Voice were very intense. So much drama happened with the performances and the results, that it was hard to keep track of everything else that was happening. But there was one moment starring our favorite talk show host Kelly Clarkson that we can’t stop thinking about.
Right after Rose Short, Hello Sunday, and Kat Hammock performed for the Instant Save, the cameras panned to coaches Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, John Legend, and Kelly. While the other mentors clapped or waved to the audience at home, Kelly was laser focused on something else: her phone!
It was amazing how Kelly basically ignored her surroundings for a full 15 seconds to focus on whatever was on her screen. Maybe she was texting her husband Brandon Blackstock? Or checking on one of her kids? Perhaps she was just invested in a serious game of Candy Crush.
While we can’t be 100% sure of what she was up to, we’re pretty confident we know the answer: She was tweeting in hopes of securing her duo, Hello Sunday, the Instant Save. Kelly sent out a post at 9:54 p.m. on Tuesday writing, “Y’all please please please vote for my girls #HelloSunday!!!!!! They are 14 and killed Sia C’MON!!!!! Please vote!!”

Unfortunately, her efforts didn’t pay off as Gwen’s contestant Rose continued on and Hello Sunday was eliminated. But we love her dedication to the cause—and we hope she still had time to sneak in a text to her family, too.
