Um, Where Was Luke Bryan During the CMA Awards Last Night?
It appeared that Luke Bryan skipped the 2019 CMA Awards.
Fans were upset they didn't get to see him and his wife Caroline Boyer on stage or the red carpet.
All of our favorite country stars were in Nashville on Wednesday to celebrate the 53rd annual CMA Awards. Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Thomas Rhett, and the rest of the big names in the industry showed up to the Bridgestone Theater dressed to impress, but there was one popular singer notably missing from country music's biggest night: Luke Bryan.
While we knew that Brad Paisley wouldn't be hosting the star-studded event, which aimed to celebrate women this year, Luke's absence came as a surprise. Fans were quick to realize the American Idol judge may not be there when he and his wife, Caroline Boyer, didn't join all the other cutest couples on the red carpet.
After the show got started and Luke never appeared in any of the incredible performances throughout the evening, it became obvious he wasn't coming—and fans were not happy.

"Sorry #CMAawards something feels like it’s missing," one person tweeted. "Probably [Luke Bryan], not the same without him." Another used a broken heart emoji to demonstrate her sadness that Luke bailed. A few super fans even called out how much they missed seeing Caroline.
It's possible that Luke didn't come to the show because he wasn't nominated for any awards this year, or he might have just been busy with his five kids. Though he hasn't commented on why they didn't attend, Caroline today posted stories from an event supporting her family's The Brett Boyer Foundation.
In any case, he wasn't the only celeb to miss parts of the evening. Blake and Gwen Stefani opted to skip the red carpet, while Morgane Stapleton, Jason Aldean, and Kane Brown were noticeably absent for the entire event.
Even with some of our favorite stars missing, there were still plenty of memorable moments throughout the night. If you need us, we'll be watching Reba McEntire's "Fancy" performance on repeat!
