Okay, it may seem like fishtail braids already had their moment, but trust me when I say you definitely haven't seen the last of the trend. I mean, not only are fishtail braids a sleek and effortless style, but they're also super versatile. And since you can legit rock them anytime of the year, they're always in season. Want proof? Our braiding guru, Stasha Harris, picked three of her favorite fishtail braids of Braid Up history just to show you how dope this look is. Warning: If you attempt any of these braids, you'll be snapping pics every time you pass a mirror.

Looking to recreate these styles? Here's a few tips to keep in mind:

1. Prep with deep conditioner. Moisture is a major key for natural hair, so load up your hair up with a lightweight and deeply hydrating formula before you begin braiding.

2. Lay your baby hairs with an edge styler. Wait, you're still using a toothbrush for your edges? No judgement, but you should really switch to an all-in-one styler—it's the only thing you need to slay your baby hairs. Use the comb side to separate your edges and then switch to the bristles to swoop your hair into any shape you want.

3. Smooth two or three pumps of mousse on top of your braids. This helps set your look while also preventing frizz and flyaways from popping up. Work the mousse through your fishtail braid, then hit it with a blow dryer.

4. Coat your scalp with peppermint oil to soothe tension. Don't stress if you’re dealing with scalp irritation after you get your hair braided—it's so common. Just rub a few drops of peppermint oil to help relieve any itchiness and dryness.
