Whether you're heading out on a hiking trip or running errands around town this winter, a pair of cozy socks is an absolute must-have. And since L.L.Bean is a one-stop shop for outdoor and seasonal gear, it's no surprise we love the retailer's own hiking socks.

The Women's Katahdin Hiker Socks are made from a blend of responsibly-harvested Merino wool, nylon, and spandex, which means they're both naturally odor-resistant and breathable. They feature lightweight underfoot cushioning a seamless toe that prevents chafing. These socks are available in four color combinations and run in sizes small to large for women, which includes shoe sizes four to 12. and I'll admit, I haven't actually worn these hiking socks on an actual hike yet, but I have found that they're also a great everyday winter sock, since they're impressively warm without being uncomfortably thick. When I'm wearing my favorite leather Chelsea boots, for example, I want to keep my feet warm, but thick, traditionally warm socks are often too bulky for my liking, making for an uncomfortable fit. These L.L.Bean socks, however, provide all the warmth I need without the bulk.

And shoppers agree that these socks are a seasonal essential. "These are the perfect winter socks, or for people with cold feet. They keep my feet very warm, but are still thin enough to wear with regular shoes. Love that they have extended sizes," one reviewer wrote.

Another shopper complimented how versatile these socks are for outdoor activities. "[These socks are the] perfect height for hiking boots and cross country ski boots."
